Wed, June 3rd. Welcome to my new follower, the wack job neighbors. Kimberley, this would be a very hard place for you. All the animals are scrawny and the young guys with the donkeys think it's very macho to smack them to make them go fast so they can show off for their friends. I gave a bunch of chicken to a kitty today at lunch. Many of the bedouins seem to have dogs, I think to help herd the sheep and goats.
Kane, I was a little verklempt this morning when I walked down the beginning of the trail. I wish you could have been here. When you do come, and I know you will, allow at least 2 or maybe 3 days. There are some really cool places that you have to climb mega steps to see. I'm just not in that good of shape.
Tami, this place would make your head explode with so much to see and learn about.
Sally, hope all is going well for you in Egypt. When you get home will you send me an e-mail? I heard from Joe that he and Hilla are home safe.
The bottom picture is from the way here, a Bedouin camp and their donkeys grazing by the road. Middle left shows the aquaduct the Nabetians built to direct water to sisterns for irrigation. Also, I've included a couple of scat shots for those friends of mine who like to play the identify the poop game. You know who you are.
Funny thing Jack I was wondering if your head was ready to explode :) I think you missed your calling as a travel guide. I look forward to reading your blog every morning as your descriptions of the countries are so real.
